All the mobile networks in the UK use the GSM Character Set of characters and as such a text message sent to a UK mobile number is usually restricted to these characters (below).

It’s important to note that some characters from the extended GSM Character Set use 2 ‘spaces’ – this is reflected in the character counter within NetMessenger. If you are sending messages outside of NetMessenger (API, Email to SMS, OMS etc), it’s important to refer to the character count in this table.
